About Innovation
Initiative Background
NENY’s vision cannot be met without the innovation of technology and manufacturing throughout the Southern Tier.
NENY’s mission and the growing industry demand cannot be met without innovation in technology and manufacturing. This specific initiative will allow for current innovation programs offered by the NENY coalition to be expanded upon, while also encouraging the development of new programs for the advancement of the battery industry from lab to market.
NENY also leverages innovation in several active programs throughout the year to aid start-up companies on their entrepreneurial journey and technology innovation. Applications open at different times, so be sure to check back regularly for new dates and opportunities.
In addition to the prioritization that is occurring throughout the project initiatives, NENY and our coalition partners are also developing specific equity and justice programs to reach and engage underserved communities.
With the creation and establishment of the battery supply chain in upstate New York, we will be bringing 15,000 jobs to the region.
